stanhopes womens group @ Stanhope Hall Community Centre B12 OXG

The young people of Stanhope are doing their version of the popular tv programme come dine with me. So far it is proving very popular with everyone involved. The young people that have cooked so far are as follows

Ashlee Baker
Maria Hasan

All the young people have had possitive feed back from all the guests and have hopefully gained new skills and confidence in doing meals for these very special guests.
This week is Paige Branch
next week is Lauren Wyatt and Joshua Singh
and finally it is Kaleem Ali. We at Stanhope wish all the young people that are left to cook the best of luck and we have the confidence in you to do well

Well i must say the final evening of fun was as great a success as the first, there were so mant peple it was un-be-lieveable!!!!!!!!!. As usual the food all went and everyone had a fun filled evening of light hearted entertainment. A great big thankyou to all of the people that made it such a brilliant night ie.. Women and Theatre and the Stanhope womens group and not forgetting Monica (as if we could lol ).

We need your help, with all the cut bnacks that are being enforced we are currently worried incase the centre is closed and would like to know that we have the support of the local and not so local community in trying to keep the centre open if need be we have already put a petition together and got loads of signatures. We are hopeful that because of the great work that goes on at Stanhope we might be safe but you never know. So watch this space for more things we will be doing.

Thursday community lunch every 2 weeks
Friday during the day the centre is closed but from 7.30
till 11 there is dominoes
Also every third friday of the month are the
Councillors surgeries

We have the perfomace of the final comedy course on Wednesday the 30th march, free curry on offer and a night of fun, everyone is welcome.

OMG Stanhope Womens Group were short listed for a heart of Birmingham award tonight 11th November 2010, i am so pleased to announce that we actually won this year, im hoping to get some pictures posted soon, congrats to us all and of course a special thanx to Monica who without her guidance we probably wouldnt be able to do most the things we would like to do.

I just wanted to let you know all the other things we have at Stanhope.         We have lots of information leaflets on various topics.  THE COMMUNITY WORKER IS EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD AT PROVIDING ADDITIONAL HELP IF ITS NEEDED,  SHE IS VERY GOOD TOO !!!!!!

BOY OH BOY WERE WE BUSY ON 19TH MARCH WE WERE CHALLENGED BY HOUSE OF SPORT TO DO A ROWING CHALLENGE TO RAISE MONEY FOR SPORTS RELIEF. IM HAPPY TO REPORT THAT NOT ONLY DID WE TAKE PART BUT WE WON TOO.  WE PROVIDED A AUTHENTIC INDIAN CURRY AFTERWARDS AND RAISE A TOTAL OF £73
